During my BA, I designed a sportswear collection inspired by circuits, cyberwear and techwear. The garments were in tones of black and grey with reflective elements to add a pop of colour and dimension. As part of the project, we had to explore fashion illustration. To juxtapose the futuristic cyber aesthetic of the garments, I chose traditional drawing as the main element of my illustrations, adding collaged imagery of old phone parts and some text digitally edited on top. The goal of this was to highlight how intertwined we are with technology in our daily lives.
Due to the pandemic, I was never able to create the physical garments so, in order to visualise what they might look like, I decided to recreate them in 3D. Since they were inspired by techwear, I imagined them being used for sports like parkour and free running. Using Mixamo and CLO3D, I made some animations to show how the garments would look when being used.
